Alternate Nostril Breathing Technique:
Alternate Nostril Breathing, also known as Nadi Shodhana, is a yogic breathing practice that involves alternating the flow of breath between the left and right nostrils. This technique is believed to balance the two hemispheres of the brain and harmonize the body's energy channels.
To practice Alternate Nostril Breathing:
- Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.
- Place your left hand on your left knee with the palm facing up in Gyan Mudra (index finger and thumb touching).
- Use your right thumb to close your right nostril and inhale through your left nostril for a count of four.
- Close your left nostril with your right ring finger, release the right nostril, and exhale for a count of four.
- Inhale through the right nostril for a count of four, then close the right nostril and exhale through the left nostril for a count of four.
- This completes one round. Repeat for 5-10 rounds, gradually increasing the count as you become more comfortable.
Practice conscious breathing and Alternate Nostril Breathing regularly to experience the profound benefits of these techniques on your mind, body, and spirit.
